Referendum Funds at Work

On Nov. 2, 2004, the citizens of Pinellas County voted to increase the ad valorem millage one-half mil for necessary operating expenses including funds to recruit and retain quality teachers, preserve reading programs and music and art classes, and provide up-to-date textbooks and technology, from July 1, 2005 to June 30, 2009. The Independent Citizens Referendum Oversight Committee (ICROC) is an independent financial oversight committee made up of local citizens. This committee has reported that the money collected from the referendum has been spent exactly as promised. To find out more about the benefits of the referendum, click here.
